Goals
- to feed the hungry in the Bartonville area
- to use our land effectively for the benefit of all
Overview
The community edible garden would provide the Bartonville community with the opportunity to grow healthy fruits and vegetables in a safe place. This garden's produce would be free to all in the neighbourhood. It would be grown in the fenced back yard of our Church. Our community is lower-middle class, mostly single families, and supports an industrialized industry. We also are a part of the Good Food Box Programme out of Toronto, where fresh produce is brought to our Church and distributed amongst various local charities and poor income households. Growing this garden would give us the further opportunity of providing fresh produce to the community, and increase the amount of food we can distribute.
