Overview
Being that the Lloydminster & District SPCA is totally funded by community fundraising. We do not receive any sort of Government grants of any kind. In the hard economic times of late, donations are understandibly lower. However, costs of maintaining our facility are not. The building in which the 137 animals at our shelter live in is falling down around their ears. It is mice infested. There are rooms closed off due to mold and therefore cannot be inhabited. We were first built to cover a population of 16,000 and currently cover a population of over 70,000. We currently have a waiting list of over 50 people waiting to release animals to our shelter. The project plan would of course be to better the environment in which our neglected and unwanted pets live. We have been looking at ways to make our facility self sufficient, such as a dog wash, a pet accessory and food store and a membership off leash park.
