Overview
Project Summary: The Kennedy House After School Drop in Project is designed to provide fun, safe and creative programming for youth in the high risk, priority neighbourhood of Kingston /Galloway Rd area. This program will allow the youth to learn new skills and participate in healthy activities which will benefit their community. The staff are committed to teaching youth to be accountable for their actions focusing primarily on the rewards of positive decision making. This is done through relationship building, which involves open and honest communication, counselling, positive role modeling and interactions with the youth.
Deliverables:
- Provide an afterschool program at the East Scarborough Storefront
- 25-30 youth enrolled in the program
- Promote the program in the local community through business, schools, churches, libraries, social service agencies
