Goals

Overview

Our project proposal is to grow the national organization coast-to-coast with an established sustainability model to increase our capacity in fighting Canadian hunger and food insecurity through youth empowerment and leadership development.

-       Expand to British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Maritimes

-       Further expand in Alberta and Central Canada

-       Run national tour

-       Develop educational resources

-       Develop & provide comprehensive Leadership Program to Spread the Love youth           chapter leaders

-       Reduce Canadian food insecurity/hunger 

 

Community Benefit

We consider Spread the Love grassroots due to our potential for growth & continued impact and because we work to take local action where it matters most. Our community benefits include: - Feeding Canada’s hungry - Tackling food insecurity - Educating the public, with heavy youth concentration, on local poverty, food insecurity and hunger - Developing youth leaders - Empowering young minds to take responsibility for their local communities - Mobilizing communities towards active citizenship - Increasing volunteerism and capacity for social action - Increasing collaboration of non-profits, business and schools towards a community demand Benefits of the sandwich: - Almost anyone can make it! - It does not require kitchen appliances and thus is both ecologically friendly and safe for volunteers - It covers most food groups and thus offers balanced nutrition - It provides recipients, e.g. working poor, with the option for easy “on-the-go” consumption - Relatively inexpensive

How will the $100K be used?

Budget Notes: Current interest in our organization and need for our services is greater than our immediate resources. The Pepsi Refresh Project and our Pepsi Refresh budget enables us to match and build upon this need.
