Overview
The proposed project will involve building an extension to the current Community Centre in order to meet the programming demands facing the Centre. As an organization, we offer free education, employment, social, recreation, and health programs to children, youth, adults, and seniors living in low income housing. The demand continues to grow for our programs as the need for affordable housing increases. The current physical space housed by the Centre is becoming inadequate as program particpation continues to grow. The biggest need for the space right now is revolving around our Homework Haven education program, in which we provide free tutoring assistance to children living in low income housing and surronding area. The money proposed in this project would allow the Centre to partner with other groups in building an extension to the current space to better serve the children and particpants of the area, particulary in the area of education.
